The Mindscape Charcoals

In 2014, I began an exploration of charcoal drawings on wood. I chose wood because of its resilience and wonderful warm tones. The grain of the wood would at times, become the inspiration and the guide for these imaginary landscapes, which I came to call Mindscapes. They began as smaller works, but eventually I arrived at larger works of up to 48" x 48".

I finally documented them in high resolution and have printed then as finished works on 240 lbs Arches archival watercolour paper, printed with water based inks.

The exploration continues, with forays into colour chalk pastels.
