Ricardo Spinacè is and artist and production designer. He was born in Argentina, raised in Italy, and currently lives in Vancouver, BC. He is a production designer best known for his work on many network television series, including among others, UnREAL, Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce, Rogue, Fairly Legal and The L Word.
He is a graduate from OCAD University (Ontario College of Art) Toronto, Ontario where he studied fine art and graphic design. He began his career as an apprentice scenic artist at CBC, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, while still in high school. He joined Nelvana animation studios in Toronto, where he became a head layout artist for many of the company's animated series and where he honed his skills as a story board artist among his many other capacities.
He has worked as a production designer, art director and scenic artist in Mexico, Europe and the US.
Ricardo speaks fluent Spanish, Italian and French and is now learning Greek. Why? Because he thinks it's a bad ass, important language.
He moved to Vancouver Canada, while at the height of his career as a head of department scenic artist, to pursue new opportunities, where he has lived since 1989. When not working in film and television, Ricardo continues his journey as a painter and sculptor in his studios in Vancouver and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
